Rachel Anne McAdams was born on 17
November 1978 in London, Ontario, Canada Rachel Anne McAdams was the daughter
of Sandra Kay (Gale), a nurse and Lance Frederick McAdams who is an auto driver
and furniture mover. Rachel is English, Welsh and Irish-born. Rachel began
acting when she was an teen. At 13 she was a part of Shakespearean performances
at summer theater camp. After graduation, Rachel received a BFA degree from
York University in Theater. After her role in Disney's The Famous Jett Jackson
episode (1998) and later, she appeared in Slings and Arrows, a Canadian
comedy-drama that follows the trials and triumphs of an Shakespearean theatre
group. In 2003, she won a Gemini award. The role she played in Mean Girls
(2004) Regina George, in Mean Girls (2004) instantly was a hit on the list of
Hollywood's most sought-after young actresses. After that she co-starred with
Ryan Gosling as the romantic drama adaptation of Nicholas Sparks' bestseller
The Notebook (2004). This was a hugely successful film at the box office and
quickly became the most popular romantic drama for an audience of young people.
McAdams was introduced to Gosling during filming. They dated until mid-2007.
McAdams and Gosling soon found themselves in a relationship and started to get
married. McAdams was seen in The Lucky Ones (2007) and State of Play (2008) as
well as State of Play (2008). She also starred in the film The Time Traveler's
Wife(2009) and Robert Downey Jr. in Guy Ritchie's international hit Sherlock
Holmes (2009). McAdams was the fiery producer in Morning Glory (2010). McAdams
also played Owen Wilson's wife, a materialistic one in Midnight in Paris
(2011). McAdams then returned to the romantic drama genre with The Vow (2012)
with Channing Tatum. McAdams is a part of Terrence Malick's To the Wonder
(2012) along with Ben Affleck and Noomi Rapacace in Brian De Palma’s action
thriller Passion (2012).
