Steve Aoki

Steve Aoki was conceived in Miami, Florida on November 30, 1977. American electro house music producer, D.J., and record producer Steve Aoki is his moniker. Music executive. He is the third son of Rocky Aoki and Chizuru Kbayashi. His father was a wrestler and also the founder of the chain of restaurants Benihana. He has two older siblings: sister Kana (who is often referred to by her middle name Grace) & brother Kevin (owner of Doraku Sushi restaurant). Half-sister Devon Aoki is a model and actress. He was born in Newport Beach, California and graduated from Newport Harbor High School, where he was part of the varsity badminton team. After finishing his studies at UC Santa Barbara with a Bachelor of Arts degree, was enrolled at UC Santa Barbara. degrees: one in feminist studies and the one in sociology. While in college, he created DIY recordings and held underground events from his Biko room in the Santa Barbara Student Housing Cooperative. The Pickle Patch became a concert venue in the time that the apartment was named The Pickle Patch. He was also active in student protests at UCSB and was the founding member of a Revolutionary Anti-Imperialist League chapter on campus. In his early 20s, Dim Mak had founded his own record company, which he named Dim Mak in honor of his childhood hero Bruce Lee. In March 2010 the artist came out with I'm in the House, a collaboration w/ the Zuper Blahq, a pseudonym of the Black Eyed Peas singer will.i.am. The track hit No. 29 on the U.K. singles chart in its first week. It was ranked among the top 5 on both the U.K. Indie Chart & U.K. Dance Chart. The track was featured on the MTV series Jersey Shore. It also was included in Piranha, the feature film Piranha and the trailer for Think Like A Man. In a May 2010 interview with HitQuarters, Lucas Secon, the producer-songwriter confirmed that he as well as Rivers Cuomo had just worked on one song. Pollstar declared him the top-grossing North America dance artist from performances in 2012. He has worked with artists such as Iggy Azalea, Afrojack, LMFAO, Linkin Park, Will.i.am, Lil Jon, Blink-182, Laidback Luke, BTS, Louis Tomlinson, Rise Against, Vini Vici & Fall Out Boy. The artist is known for his remixes with artists like Kid Cudi.
