Alison Doody

Alison Doody is an Irish model and actress. She was born on 11th November 1966. Her feature film debut was a tiny part in her debut role in the Bond film A View to a Kill. (1985). Later she played the Nazi-sympathising archaeologist Elsa Schneider (Indiana Jones and in the Last Crusade 1989). There were also roles for Siobhan Dovan in A Prayer for the Dying (1987) Charlotte in Taffin (1988) and Rebecca Flannery in Major League II (1994). Doody was a model when her being approached by a hopeful photographer. Her career has since transformed into commercial modeling. Doody was very determined not to do the glamorous work or doing nude. This rule extended into Doody's acting work. She accepted a small part as Jenny Flex for 1985's A View to a Kill when her name was picked by the director who cast her. Doody's name appeared in John Willis Screen World Vol. 12 which features the most promising actors from 1986. 38. Doody was just turning 18 years old at the time she was cast in the character of Bond girl. She remains the youngest Bond girl to date. The year 1987 was the time Mickey Rourke starred in A Prayer for the Dying where she played IRA members Siobhan Doovan. Doody played a non-speaking part in the 1987 TV adaptation of The Secret Garden appearing as Archibald Craven's wife Lilias in a dream. The Storyteller episode from 1988 included her in the leading part of Sapsorrow and was portrayed by John Hurt Dawn French Jennifer Saunders. She starred alongside Pierce Brosnan, in the 1988 film Taffin. Then she took her greatest role as Austrian archaeologist and Nazisympathiser The doctor. Doody played alongside Jonathan Pryce as Hitler Diaries which was a British mini-series inspired by Hitler Diaries. Later, she relocated to Hollywood. Chosen to replace Cybill Shepherd as spokeswoman for L'Oreal she was later chosen to play opposite Charlie Sheen in 1994's Major League II in the role of Flannery his agent and girlfriend. After almost a decade away from the stage Doody came back to acting, by playing a minor role in the 2003's British comedy movie The Actors with Michael Caine as her character in the awards ceremony scene. She also appeared in 2004 with Patrick Swayze as a television adaptation of King Solomon's Mines. She also appeared on Benjamin's Struggle, a 2005 booklet on the Holocaust. Doody was also cast in Danny Dyer's The Rapture (2009). In 2011, she was set to take on the role of lead for The Asphyx remake, but this project did not go ahead. In 2011 she began the first season of two on E4 comedy show Beaver Falls playing Pam Jefferson. She also appeared on the show in 2014 as We Still Kill the Old Way. In November, she won the Almeria award for best film and was awarded a Star on Almeria's Walk of Fame.
