Allyson Felix

Allyson Michelle Felix was born in Los Angeles on November 18 1985. Paul Felix, her father, was an ordained pastor in the Master's Seminary Sun Valley. Marlean Felix worked at Balboa Magnet elementary school. Felix showed an early aptitude to play sports while attending Los Angeles Baptist High School. Felix discovered her athletic ability at the moment. Within a short time after her initial attempt, she was second in the 200 meters race of the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. In 2003 Felix was a senior in high school having signed a professional contract with the company that makes sports Adidas before enrolling at the University of Southern California where she studied elementary education. Felix's first Olympic medal was won at the 2004 Summer Olympics held in Athens Greece. Felix set an international junior record the 200m race in 22.18 seconds. She became the youngest world winner in the 200m at the 2005 Helsinki World Championships and defended her title in 2007 beating long-time Jamaican rival Veronica Campbell. Felix had a steady performance in London, Beijing Rio de Janeiro, and Tokyo. She always finished in the top three of the events.
